They are still working on lots of little details, but the cleaners arrived today to begin getting the house ready for "us". The painters where there touching up trim and drywall. Our backsplash was grouted and our range was installed
Our wine fridge had also been installed. I can't wait to fill it up!
The door hardware on the main floor was on. We used chrome in the bathrooms
and antique brass everywhere else
The window washers had been there and all the exterior windows were clean, in addition to the windows leading into my office
The front door was also on
We may actually start to move some furniture up to the upper levels tomorrow!

I love your front door! Could you tell me who made it and is it solid wood or fiberglass.
THanks
Brent
Hi Brent. Thanks for the compliment! Our front door is mahogany. We purchased it online from the Door Super Store. It is part of the Wood Entry Door Craftsman Series. (http://www.doorsuperstore.com/Internationaldoor.html). It has been in for two years and we are very happy with it. We finished the door with Sikken's Cetol Wood Care Product, like our garage doors.
Are you in a cold climate, like the North east or upper midwest? We live in MN and aren't sure how solid wood would react in the cold.
We are in the Midwest with very cold winters and hot and steamy summers with LOTS OF WIND! The door has performed very well. It isn't drafty and we haven't noticed a problem with expansion and contraction through the seasons. The only thing I was warned about was having a wooden door face North, but ours faces east is is slightly protected by the porch so it doesn't get brutal sun.
I really appreciate the help. We probably won't be building for a year or two, so I will probably check back and see how yours is holding up.
